Your dabbing experience isn’t complete without a carb cap. This attachment is a necessity because it limits airflow so you can dab at lower temperatures to enjoy the full flavor of your concentrates. When you dab at high temperatures, terpenes are destroyed. Terpenes are what give your concentrates flavor, so less terpenes means less flavor with each dab!
Modern carb caps are designed to allow for directional airflow, making it easier to control where the air flows. Capping your dab nail also catches heat so you can extend the session before having to heat the nail again.
Carb caps come in a number of different heat-resistant materials like glass, quartz, and titanium. You’ll also find plenty of options when it comes to style since many carp cabs are created for specific pieces like enails and terp pearls.
Using a carb cap is extremely easy. After heating your nail, place your cab cap on top and lift it up and down to alter the airflow and pressure as you take a hit. Some carb caps allow you to spin them to move the air around your nail. When you’re ready to clear your vapor, lift up the carb cap. It can remain in place during the session, but don’t leave it on your nail for an extended period or it could become dangerously hot on contact.
We recommend cleaning your carb cap with iso alcohol, water, and a little bit of coarse salt. Seal your carb cap and the cleaning ingredients in a container or plastic bag and gently shake for a few minutes. Let it soak for 2-3 minutes, then take out the carb cap and dry it with a towel. Finally, rinse it with clean water, dry it again, and you’re ready to start dabbing again!
